As we are all looking to self-isolate and escape the crowds, by far the best way to do so is on a yacht of your own. You must have wondered how and where to charter a suitable yacht, thus we’ve invited Claudia from A2A YACHTING to give us more information.
Question:
Claudia, where do you offer a yacht charter?
Claudia Answering:
We offer yacht charters in all major sailing destinations. The Mediterranean is the most popular during the Summer months, between June and September. East Caribbean during the winter months.
Question:
And which are the most popular destinations?
Claudia Answering:
The most popular in the Med is Cote d’Azur in the South of France, South Dalmatia in Croatia, Greek Cyclades islands, Amalfi coast and Sardinia in Italy, and the Balearics in Spain.
Question:
And what about in the Caribbean?
Claudia Answering:
The Virgin Islands are by far the most visited, closely followed by the Bahamas and then Islands such as St Martin and St Barths, Antigua, and the Grenadines.
Question:
Are there any other interesting destinations or itineraries?
Claudia Answering:
Absolutely. Seychelles in the Indian Ocean, Thailand in South East Asia, Tahiti in the South Pacific, and the Canaries in the Atlantic, in particular for those keen on transatlantic crossing experience are the next best locations.
Question:
Are there any special experiences?
Claudia Answering:
Yes, long-term charters which last 2-12 months are becoming the most popular yachting experiences. Families are keen to escape for a sabbatical and either buy a suitable boat or in most cases charter a yacht of their choice.
Question:
What are the most popular yachts?
Claudia Answering:
Sailing catamarans are by far the most sought-after boats in the last few years. Sailing yachts from 40-60ft come close second and motorboats from 40-50ft which can be hired on a bareboat basis are also in high demand. De-luxe gullets, usually based in the East Mediterranean are ideal for larger groups and educational tours.
Question:
What are the most popular types of the charter?
Claudia Answering:
Luxury catamaran charters in Greece, exclusive motor yachts in the South of France, bareboat sailing in the Virgin Islands, or long-term charters across the Mediterranean are the most popular options.
Question:
And what about the prices?
Claudia Answering:
The smallest 30ft boats can be chartered from well below 1,000 Eur per week while most popular 40-45ft sailing cats cost around 4,000 – 10,000 Eur/week, depending on the season or location. Luxury crewed charters start from around 20,000 Eur and include captain and chef, while the most exclusive mega yachts can cost well above a cool 1 million Euros per week.
Question:
Is there anything else to know?
Claudia Answering:
You can pay for your charter in a number of currencies, including US$’s or £ British Sterling and we most recently accept a range of cryptocurrencies and most credit cards. We are also an exclusive dealer for a very special type of motor yacht, PUCCINI YACHTS and as a broker of a number of sailing catamaran shipyards, we can arrange the sale and delivery of a range of best models on the market including Sunreef and Vaan catamarans amongst others
